“Very Interesting collage of terminology! Very interesting indeed!” ~ Monessa2005

I was writing dialogue for my character, Ms. Pearly. Ms. Pearly is a feisty old with a mouth like a sailor in heat. I had to choose my words very carefully. While flipping through various thesauri, dictionaries and roaming the web, I couldn't find what I needed. So, I created it.

I started making a list of all the words I knew. What started out as a simple hobby, became an obsession. I noted titles from ground breaking hilarious films, rhymes that provided reasons and salacious headlines. I listened to what he called her. I overhead she called the girl in the skimpy outfit. I answered pop cultures questions.

"This is hilarious! Are these terms that women are using? I’m wondering if there’s more of this. Thanks for the laughs.” ~ Maverk13

"Great concept! I do like the pop cultures mentions here and I am already familiar with the Sex and the City entries. I love the hasbian. Has not heard or read that one anywhere. Really love that! Overall, this is a very cute and comical piece.” ~Im1grlegrl

I had a ball writing this. I would love to know what the writers of the world think. Not to mention students majoring in Women Studies programs.

The Shesaurus is America's first women's dictionary-thesaurus that dares to go where no other reference book have gone before. It is the ultimate study guide that focuses on society's characterzation of women from the 19th century Victorian to the today's Hip Hop Vixen.

The Shesaurus is a compilation of every idiom society has caste on women over the years. Women are under constant scrutiny and inspection, it seems the more power we gain the more labels we have attached to our name. This book goes beyond Herbst's Wimmin, Wimps & Wallflowers; it is a journey through history's influence on the female community.

As a writer, I've always wanted a resource guide that provides options for even the most unflattering synonyms not found in your typical dictionary or thesaurus.
